The reason for this Blog is so that our children will always have our thoughts and feelings about the Book of Mormon and its teachings. We have invited grandparents to add their thoughts and insights as well because they are the smartest people we know when it comes to the teachings of the gospel. There will come a time when we have left this earth and our children/grandchildren will still be able to read our words and feel of our testimonies.

1st Nephi Chapter 6:1-6
1st Nephi 6
1 And now I, Nephi, do not give the genealogy of my fathers in this part of my record; neither at any time shall I give it after upon these plates which I am writing; for it is given in the record which has been kept by my father; wherefore, I do not write it in this work.
2 For it sufficeth me to say that we are descendants of Joseph.
3 And it mattereth not to me that I am particular to give a full account of all the things of my father, for they cannot be written upon these plates, for I desire the room that I may write of the things of God.
4 For the fulness of mine intent is that I may persuade men to come unto the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, and be saved.
5 Wherefore, the things which are pleasing unto the world I do not write, but the things which are pleasing unto God and unto those who are not of the world.
6 Wherefore, I shall give commandment unto my seed, that they shall not occupy these plates with things which are not of worth unto the children of men.
Thoughts:
Jason: Nephi states the purpose of these records, "to persuade men to come unto God". Jospeh Smith stated that man can get closer to God by the Book of Mormon. I guess Nephi accomplished his goal. Nephi also sets the standard for what is to be written in theses records. This is important to know. The plates were not easy to write on and there was limited space. The spirit guided the writers of these plates as to what they should write. We need the understand that there is no filler in these works. The words of the Book of Mormon were chosen by the Lord through the spirit. When we truly search these scriptures that same spirit is present and will bear testimony that they are true and we will learn the purpose of each and every verse.
Gary: We understand that. " The Lord, ALWAYS, gives us a History", of how others have been in a certain or similar situation, and the way to make the right decisions.
